With Christine Davidson

Yoga Groove involves moving through sequences of linked yoga postures in time with
music. Music wakes up the bodyʼs inner wisdom allowing practitioners to tap into their
creative potential. Flow yoga is like a meditative dance on the mat. Through flow we
cultivate opening, strength, and balance finding greater freedom in the body and mind.
The music is not background accompaniment but rather an essential aspect of the
practice. Through music we learn to tap into Spanda, or the inner vibration that gives
rise to our deepest desire to harmonize our actions with nature. “Spanda is the pulsation
of the ecstasy of the divine consciousness”, Abinahavagupta (975-1025c.e.)

My yoga journey started quite accidentally long before my first sun salutation. It was through the cultivation of my two great passions, alpine skiing and dance, that mindful presence would occasionally penetrate my very chaotic inner workings bringing with it a profound sense of peace.I lived for those moments when the body would align perfectly allowing me to move through space with an effortless grace, my senses so acute that time seemed to slow and the full magnificence of life crystalized into vivid, pure, perception. Over the years my yoga practice has become another means by which I can realize that same sense of expansive awareness where everything feels possible. Now as a Ski Instructor and Yoga Teacher I am passionate about creating opportunities for my students to experience their own moments of self discovery through movement. My Hatha yoga classes are designed to develop greater strength, balance, and flexibility while allowing space to explore deeper themes in a fun, stress-free, environment. I feel strongly that Santosha or contentment, is found when we stop seeking and simply start being no matter what version of the pose we find ourselves in.
